A major, shocking surprise was gladly welcomed by a significant amount of the world’s population on October 24, 2019. After a few years of silence and leading followers on that ‘the glory days were permanently over,’ Coldplay came out of the dark by releasing a single record and announcing a seventh, double-sided, album, titled “Everyday Life,” to be released on November 22, 2019. The single that re-ignited the band’s popularity consisted of two songs, “Orphans” and “Arabesque.”

Followers and fans alike, spanning many generations across the globe, were told that the “A Head Full of Dreams” world tour was to be the absolute last that we would hear from or see this beloved group. Little did we know that they had a surprise in store.

Out of nowhere, without any warnings or hints, Coldplay dropped two songs. The first out of the two, “Orphans,” is most definitely nostalgic for all of their loyal listeners. The song is a feel-good tune that makes anybody and everybody get out of their seats and dance until their feet burn. With a classic Coldplay melody that sticks in your head for days without end, “Orphans” reminds us of their records from the early 2000’s, hopeful and heartfelt music. The contrast of voices and instruments, sounds of emotion, passion, and heart pours through Chris Martin’s voice and into the ears of the listener.
